Weekend Happenings

This past weekend was beautiful and we took full advantage, spending most of the weekend outside. Friday night was perfect, great temps, no wind, and very few bugs - we lit a campfire and enjoyed the evening...

Then spent the night in the camper (sorry the picture is blurry, it was actually dark out and I used the "night" mode to take this picture - with that setting you have to hold completely still, but I must not have!)...

We posed for a quick picture when we came in the house for some snacks...
On Saturday, Cary rented a Bobcat to work on his dirt bike track. Brendan was of course thrilled and couldn't wait to get a ride.

Time to get some work done!


While Cary and Brendan were busy in the pasture, Halle had fun on the John Deere tricycle...

Here are a couple of pictures of the swelling on Halle's face - she was bitten by a misquito and her forehead got all swollen - the same thing happened to her eye last summer...

On Sunday morning the kids played on the Bobcat trailer before Cary loaded it...

Halle finally decided she wanted to sit in the Bobcat with Daddy on Sunday morning. Fun!

And finally - my 20 week belly picture! What a difference 3 1/2 weeks makes!

A trip to the salon...

This past Saturday we took the kids in for haircuts. Brendan is an old pro in the chair and loves having his hair cut. His stylist had pink in her hair, which was totally fascinating to him.

Here he is looking across the salon at Halle, who was experiencing her first ever haircut!

Julie, Halle's stylist, sprays her hair with water...

A bit of gel, and he's done! Here is the finished product...
After the cut, Julie took a few minutes to style Halle's hair...

All done! Halle really enjoyed having her hair cut and sat completely still throughout! So cute!

And last but not least, a picture of my tummy ~ I'm now almost 19 weeks; this picture was taken a couple of weeks ago. I've popped so much earlier with this baby then with the others, it's crazy!

A new swingset!

We've been thinking about getting the kids a swingset for awhile now, and we finally did! Here it is as Cary and I (but mainly Cary) were building it...


This is a picture of the 'almost' finished product - we got enough done so the kids could swing and slide...

They LOVE it and have been having a blast! I'm going to have to take some more pictures of the finished product and update one of these days!

Another birthday!

Mine! I turned the big 3-0 on April 16th! We celebrated by going out for dinner, then came home and opened gifts. The kids were so excited to give me my presents, and to "help" me open them...

And, Cary gave me an iPod Shuffle! It's so tiny and has amazing sound! I love it!

Brendan's birthday!

April 8th marked Brendan's 4th birthday! To celebrate we had a party for him (and Halle!) at Grandpa David and Grandma Connie's house over Easter weekend. It was a great time, and so nice of everybody to attend & shower the kids with gifts! Thank you to all!

My best friend, Dusty, brought her family to share in the festivities. Here Erica holds her youngest, Isaac...

On Brendan's 1st birthday, 3 years ago these same three goofballs sat on this same couch and posed. And here they are 3 years later (from left to right: Katie, Mic and Brendan)...

And for old times sake, the comparison shot (as you will notice, in the recent pic Mic is in the middle, and in this one Brendan is)! Amazing how much they change in such a short period of time!

Happy Easter!

Because we will be gone this coming weekend, we decided to celebrate Easter a week early. Grandma Carol came down and joined in on the fun.

Luckily, the Easter Bunny was ok with us celebrating a week early, so he hopped his way on over, too to hide eggs and Easter Basket's for the kids.

Halle really enjoyed finding eggs this year - the first time she's understood the concept!
